With our traditional aggressive Lantuck-backed discs, our Flex-Edge discs and our flexible PowerLock ‘fx’ discs, we carry every variety of quick-change disc to fit your every need. 

Traditional Merit PowerLock Discs are the most aggressive quick-change sanding discs available in our industry. Traditional Merit PowerLock Discs can be used for working mild contours, but are ideal for use on flat surfaces. These discs are available in a variety of abrasives and backings; including:

• Ceramic
• Zirconia
• Aluminum oxide
• Silicon carbide
• Cloth and fiber

PowerLock fx Quick-Change Flexible Discs
PowerLock fx — the flexible, all purpose alternative to Merit’s traditional quick change disc is ideal for contoured or flat surfaces. For weld removal, the most common grits used are 36-50 while 60-120 grits are used for removal of imperfections and blending. These discs have added flexibility and are used on a wide range of applications.

PowerLock Discs come in a choice of three safe, easy-to-use fasteners.
No matter which fastener type you choose, all Merit PowerLock Discs feature laminated construction which provide a tough, durable backing — virtually eliminating the snagging and shredding that can occur with pressure-sensitive discs.

Type I

Type I is a snap-on/snap-off system, which enables you to change discs quickly and safely, reducing down time and operating expenses (equivalent to Norton’s TP fastener)

Type II

Type II features a turn-on/turn-off style fastener (equivalent to Standard Abrasives’ Soc-Att® locking system or Norton’s TS fastener)

Type III

Type III features a roll-on/roll-off style fastener (equivalent to 3M™ Roloc fastening system or Norton’s TR fastener)
